Our Daily Elder Devotional: Don’t Focus on Your Imperfections

Our Daily Elder Devotional
We claim no originality for these devotions. One of our elders searches various sources and finds a daily devotion. Consider this a gift from Clinton Avenue Reformed Church: www.clintonave.org.

Today’s devotional comes from my heart.

Don’t Focus on Your Imperfections

We are all imperfect, but we have so much that is good within us, gifts that God has given us.  We are like broken shells that are found on a beach.  Broken shells teach you not to look at our imperfections…but to look at the beauty…the great beauty of what is still left.

Help me to truly accept myself just as I am, Lord, so that I may sing the song in my heart…for no one else has my song to sing…my gifts to give.  (Carol Hamblet Adams)

Psalm 103:8-11Amplified Bible (AMP)

The Lord is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger and abounding in compassion and lovingkindness.
He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins [as we deserve],
Nor rewarded us [with punishment] according to our wickedness.
11 For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear and worship Him [with awe-filled respect and deepest reverence].
