Our Daily Elder Devotional: Being Humble and Penitent

Our Daily Elder Devotional
We claim no originality for these devotions. One of our elders searches various sources and finds a daily devotion. Consider this a gift from Clinton Avenue Reformed Church: www.clintonave.org.

Today’s devotional is from my heart to you.

Being Humble and Penitent

Psalm 51:15-17Amplified Bible (AMP)

15
O Lord, open my lips,
That my mouth may declare Your praise.
16
For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering.
17
My [only] sacrifice [acceptable] to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart [broken with sorrow for sin, thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise.

Jesus, You showed us how to be humble and obedient to Your Father’s will.  Help us to be humble and to “trust and obey”.
