Our Daily Elder Devotional: Developing an Attitude of Gratitude

Our Daily Elder Devotional
We claim no originality for these devotions. One of our elders searches various sources and finds a daily devotion. Consider this a gift from Clinton Avenue Reformed Church: www.clintonave.org.

Today’s devotional is from my heart to you.

Developing an Attitude of Gratitude

1 Peter 4:1-2New International Version (NIV)

Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.

When we accept Jesus as our Savior, and relinquish our will to His will, we are born again.  The old life dies away and the new life grows in us.  But we must nurture our new life.  One way to do that is to take on the same attitude of a servant to God and others, that Jesus showed while He was here on earth.  We need to develop an attitude of gratitude for what Jesus Christ has done for us and express it by turning to Godly things and away from worldly things.
