Our Daily Elder Devotional: Thanking God Always

Our Daily Elder Devotional
We claim no originality for these devotions. One of our elders searches various sources and finds a daily devotion. Consider this a gift from Clinton Avenue Reformed Church: www.clintonave.org.

Today’s devotional is from my heart to you.

Thanking God Always

Colossians 3:15 New International Version (NIV)

15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

Lord Jesus, I find it difficult to remember to give You thanks when things go wrong in my life.  I know that I should be giving thanks even before I go into my car for safe travels that I will have.  I know that I should be giving thanks to You when things don’t go the way that I think that they should go.  Please help me to realize that Your plans are much better than my plans, after all You know all that is going on around me and how it all will work out in the long run.  I need to be reminded that You might be trying to teach me something about this world of ours and maybe even about Your love for me.  Please help me to maintain an open heart and mind.  Amen.
