Our Daily Elder Devotional
We claim no originality for these devotions. One of our elders searches various sources and finds a daily devotion. Consider this a gift from Clinton Avenue Reformed Church: www.clintonave.org.
Today’s devotional comes from my heart.
Making the Lord, Your Refuge
Psalm 73:23-28New International Version (NIV)
23 Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
27 Those who are far from you will perish;
you destroy all who are unfaithful to you.
28 But as for me, it is good to be near God.
I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge;
I will tell of all your deeds.
Sometimes finding the strength to make it through a given day seems out of our grasp. No matter how we might talk to ourselves, we still come up empty. That is when we need to go back to read God’s love letter to us—the Bible. The Psalms are filled with encouragement and one example is Psalm 73. You should read it in its entirety, but I have chosen verses 23-28 for this devotional. Though these verses all are encouraging, draw your attention to verse 26. I hope this blesses you today.
I found Dr. Robert A. Cook to be very inspirational. He used to say: “Walk with the King today, and be a blessing.”
