To God Be the Glory

Read: 1 Corinthians 3:6-9
So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. (v. 7 NIV)
Around the world today, there are 4.7 billion people who have never met Jesus. As Christians, it is both our joy and our responsibility to introduce others to Christ. Each time we share God’s love, we are planting seeds of the gospel. But planting seeds can become discouraging. We want to see the fruit. Yet God calls us to be gardeners. And this means we need to be patient.
Radhey Shyam was first introduced to Jesus through a Words of Hope radio program in India. A Hindi song piqued his curiosity because the lyrics talked about praising God. Radhey kept listening after the song was done, and heard a message about God and his love for us. Radhey began listening to the programs regularly, and gradually his faith questions were answered. He became convinced that only Jesus could forgive his sins and make him right with God. Radhey says that for him the radio acted like a farmer sowing seeds of faith. In time, the harvest was there for all to see.
Maybe there is someone specific in your life for whom you have planted seeds. Despite faith-filled conversations and silent prayers of petition, you see no outward changes in the person’s life. Don’t give up! God wants us to plant seeds, cultivate, and water. But in the end, we place our hope in God to make faith grow. —Megan Nollet, WOH staff
As you pray, ask God to cause faith to grow in the hearts of those you love.
